Wæm Sof Datkhěf (/sof/ /ˈdatxɛf/ [plain] [ramp]) is a subtropical Town located in To-3kriv Zone, Vt-48nhǐl District, within the Federation of Alveria.

The name Wæm Sof Datkhěf is derived from the Constructi language, as Wæm Sof Datkhěf was founded by Deaddiy Gleg̈, who was culturaly Constructi.

Climate

Wæm Sof Datkhěf has a yearly average temperature of 15°C (59°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a pleasant 22°C (71°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a cold 9°C (48°F). Wæm Sof Datkhěf receives an average of 279 cm/y (109 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of snow during the pleasantly short winter months. Overview

Wæm Sof Datkhěf was founded durring the late 13th century in winter of the year 1166, by Deaddiy Gleg̈. The establishment of Wæm Sof Datkhěf was somewhat plagued by a lack of willing colonists, leading to Deaddiy Gleg̈ electing to pay people to resettle in Wæm Sof Datkhěf.

Wæm Sof Datkhěf was built using the conventions of Constructi durring the late 13th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Wæm Sof Datkhěf is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature waddle and daub construction with good timber frames and a stone foundation protected by thatched or shingled rooves. Most buildings with second floors are built in such a way as to overhang into the streets on the upper floors for more space, as building size seems to be the primary indicator of wealth within the community. Most buildings are not decorated with any integral features, but instead use ivy, flowers, and other natural elements in planters of on trellices to breathe life into the structure they grow upon.

Wæm Sof Datkhěf is is constructed arround a series of spacious paverstone mainstreets which form concentric circles, with smaller strait roads linking the circiles to each other at varrious points. The town posesses a mighty albit amaturly crafted stone wall. It was built using querried stone blocks and posesses all of the standard defencive features, including a few watch towers. While it would last against a siege, the wall's outdated and simplistic construction method percludes the possability of Wæm Sof Datkhěf weathering a full scale bombardment durring a siege. The budget focused millitary grade defenses have not been wellmaintained over the years, and while functional are in dire need of some loving care and perhapse light renovation.

The town shows nothing out of the ordinary, at first glance. Then you start to notice all the small things. Each window has seven iron nails pounded into the sill. Every door has a sprig of holly overhead. Every well is branded with purity seals and runes to ward the contents. Everyone is carrying a small charm for safety or fortune, be it a rabbit’s foot, a horseshoe, or other little totems.

Cultural Notes

Wæm Sof Datkhěf's bank was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is best known for its functional shapes, abstract shapes used sparingly for decor, simple color schemes, holistic design, and basic industrial materials. Its simple designs were created to be beautiful, functional, and mass-producible. The style used little to no embellishment or ornamentation, instead drawing attention to the streamlined design, such as flat roofs to create a simple, geometric look. The simplicity masks the style's nearly sinister functionality, as every last feature is designed to guide the people living in the building in how to make the most efficient use of the structure.

In Wæm Sof Datkhěf the utterance of expletives is impossible within city limits. This has changed as the limits have changed, but has not kept up with slang, or swearing in foreign languages.

In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the late 2nd century, Wæm Sof Datkhěf was attacked by soldiers from another nation, waging a greater campaign. The details of the conflict are hazy at best due to many conflicting accounts. What is known is Wæm Sof Datkhěf lost 179 people, 356 livestock, and 36 buildings. The conflict ended after roughly 139, when members of Wæm Sof Datkhěf's militia enacted an operation to transport a specific powerful weapon to a particular port unharmed. The operation was complicated by extremely hostile wildlife which took many out of action. The conflict ended with a last stand against the enemy until a particular event occurred, which ended in a stalemate for Wæm Sof Datkhěf's forces. The war is remembered in legend by Wæm Sof Datkhěf's bards, historians, and legend keepers.
